We are given a group assignment for maximum 5 people in a group which consists of 3 Parts.

Our assignment task is as followed:

By taking the building you live in as the object of study in this assignment, your group need to produce the following: Part 1 :Illustrate the type of the building with sketches / photo / diagrams, the function of the building and hence list out the requirements / criterion of the building.

Part 2 Identify and explain the (i) type of foundation, (ii) type of slab and (iii) type of roof of the building with sketches / photo / diagrams.

Part 3 Compare and contrast with TWO (2) other types and recommend an alternative to replace the existing type.

 

Our group decided to do maple terrace from Sime Darby Property. In this case, I was assigned to do Part 2 with Teo Jun Tang. After the discussion, we decided to do separately with equal amount of work. So, I do and sketch the part which is the non suspended slab and the type of roof of the building. In this assignment, I learn how to identify appropriately the slab and roof of a building. Not only that, this also increase my sketching skills as I never have drawn roof stucture before.
